Democratic Party’s (DP) Jinja municipality Mayor Mohammed

latest01+pixDemocratic Party’s (DP) Jinja municipality Mayor Mohammed Baswale Kezaala on Thursday survived a nasty motor accident on his way to attend Presidential candidate Amama Mbabazi’s campaign rally in Luweero district.
According to a close relative who asked not be named in this report, Mr Baswale was traveling with two other people in the car and a driver. The accident was reportedly caused when the car failed to brake and overturned.

The source said Mr Baswale sustained minor injuries on one of his legs and the chest.
“After the accident, he was admitted at Case Clinic in Kampala where medical examinations were done on him. X-rays showed that he was in good shape. However, this morning (Friday), he was complaining of chest pain,” the source said.
At the rally where Mr Baswale was headed, Mr Mbabazi promised to elevate Luweero Town Council into a municipality and set up a special fund to erase the scars of the liberation war.

Addressing a rally at Kasana playground in Luweero District, Mr Mbabazi wondered why a district where the 1981-86 liberation war led by Mr Museveni was fought has remained with a town council while other areas are granted a status that attracts more funding.
“I know many places which are smaller and are municipalities. Luweero should become a municipality. Why does it not have a municipality status?” Mr Mbabazi asked.
